Warehouse Writers' Workshop
The Warehouse Writers' Workshop
one of the most popular and long running
playwriting workshops in the country.
Many of our writers have found success across London, throughout the UK and abroad.
The Workshops also make a regular, high-profile contribution to the
International Playwriting Festival
which has gained a national and international reputation for discovering new writers
and is linked to other European festivals:
Extra Candoni in Italy and Theatro Ena in Cyprus.
Warehouse Writers' Workshop
is designed to cater for both the dedicated future professional and the enthusiastic amateur alike.
Our workshop leader is Ken Christiansen
of Operating Theatre Company.
The next Workshops will be announced soon

FAQ's
Do I need any previous experience as a writer to join?
Absolutely not. Workshops in the past have featured those who have never written a play before, and those who have won awards and had their work performed. The sessions are structured so those attending get to rub off on one another; the less experienced will learn from the more accomplished, and those who have been practising their craft a little longer will gain from the newer writers' fresh outlook.
How much does it cost?
The payment structure has changed from previous years. Payment for a season (there are two seasons in a year, Autumn and Spring) will be accepted up front and will cost £45.00. However, if anyone has trouble mustering that kind of money we are open to discuss your circumstances.
We can always work something out.
( Joining mid-season might also be possible (subject to numbers) with payment pro rata)
What do I get for my money?
For your £45.00 you get:
* Five 3-hour sessions, headed by a professional writer who will offer advice and chair discussions
on the work submitted by members.
* The chance to hear guest speakers who will come to the sessions and talk on things of relevant interest. Past speakers have included Ted Craig (Artistic Director,Warehouse Theatre)
& Natalie Wrayford (UK Film Council).
* Access to a company of actors who will attend a session to read extracts of the members work,
allowing writers to hear their work read out loud.
* Complimentary membership and a ticket to most of the shows performed at the Warehouse
* The chance to have your work showcased in the Warehouse's International Playwriting Festival,
to be featured in one of two slots given over specifically for members of the Writers Workshop.
As you can see, you get an awful lot for your £45.00
