15 May Some casting completed but some still to go
(and it's getting tight!) for the IPF this weekend...
17 & 18 May Festival weekend a great success
and some terrific talent showcased.
12 June Sad to hear of the passing of Kevin Elyot
(author of My Night with Reg)
but also a wonderful actor - he was brilliant
years ago in the WT production of Screamers by Anthony Davison.
16 June Another sad passing: Sam Kelly who founded
the Warehouse Theatre in 1977
(with Richard Ireson and Adrian Shergold)
We'll miss you Sam!
13 July Each week on the website front page we're featuring
a well-known actor from our past productions
and also...
visit our Facebook page
as we're also featuring each week
some terrific photographs from our archive.
24 July We were thrilled to hear that the brilliant
Four Screws Loose who we discovered
a few years ago are having their new show recorded
for showing in cinemas - check your local Odeon for details!
11 Aug A brief visit to Edinburgh revealed
some excellent shows that would have been a treat
for our Croydon audience if we only had a theatre!
The Screws show was terrific and well deserved
of the attention they are now getting.
Still proud to say the Warehouse had them first!
13 Sept Delighted to hear of talk of a
Cultural Quarter for Croydon after so long with
the word 'culture' being a dirty word in Croydon.
And renewed talk of a new theatre on the
Ruskin Square site - OUR theatre, having spent
10 years designing it! We look forward to
renewing our relationship with the developers,
Stanhope and Schroders - and Croydon Council.
19 Sept Great article by Inside Croydon - here's a link
28 Sept We will miss Brenda Kirby's big smile
and joyful attitude to life!
8 Oct Service for Brenda at Croydon Minster
was a much deserved 'full house'
and was very moving.
17 Oct Last night, the Stirling Prize for Architecture
was awarded to the Everyman Theatre
in Liverpool - the Project Manager for that building
is John Clarke who has been a long-time supporter
of the Warehouse who was and is project managing
for our new theatre
11 Nov We were very sad to hear of the passing
of Mark Williams who had a stroke last week.
Mark was one of our most loyal volunteers
who, as severely disabled as he was,
ably managed to sell a tremendous
number of programmes and be a friendly
smiling face greeting our audiences.
14 Nov Standing room only
at Croydon Crematorium Chapel for the funeral
for Mark Williams - a very beautiful service.
